Photography 101 – Beginner Workshop with Mirth Photography
Take your photography from “auto” to artistic control in this beginner-friendly 3-week workshop, presented by Mirth Photography.
What will the photography course cover?
We nickname this workshop “Demystifying the camera”. One of the big hurdles toward really good photography is understanding the power of your camera’s settings. So this workshop focuses on camera settings. We learn a little about compsotion and lighting but mainly about helping you understand your camera settings clearly.
What kind of camera do I need?
Any DSLR or mirrorless camera is suitable, including Canon, Nikon, Sony, or similar brands. Compact digital cameras with manual settings are also welcome. (Cell phone cameras are not suitable for this beginner’s technical class.)
Do I need any prior experience?
No experience required! This workshop is designed for complete beginners who want to move beyond “auto mode” and start taking creative control of their photos.
What should I bring to class?
Bring your camera (with a charged battery and memory card), a notebook, and lots of curiosity! You’ll get guidance on using your own gear throughout the sessions.
After the workshops, the group will decide on a practical outing to put your new skills to use in real life.
