Still Life Sessions

Join us for relaxed Still Life Sessions at Canvas and Craft, a creative space where art, community, and inspiration meet. Every two weeks, we’ll select something unique from our neighbours, the TLC Charity Shop to build a new and interesting still life arrangement. You’ll have the opportunity to draw, paint, or sketch from life while developing essential artistic skills.

Still life practice helps artists of all levels improve observation, composition, and understanding of light, shadow, and form. It’s an invaluable way to learn colour mixing, explore texture, and strengthen hand-eye coordination — all while enjoying a calm and supportive studio environment.

An experienced artist will be present to offer guidance, insight, and feedback as you work.

frequently asked questions

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Yes, for still life sessions please bring your own choice of materials to paint, sketch or draw. Guests are welcome to bring snacks.

How do I book and pay for an event?

Bookings are made via our website or by contacting Jo-Anne directly. Spaces are limited, and payment secures your spot. Payment must be received 48 hours before the workshop. For Still Life Sessions, you can book a set of sessions at a lower rate.

What if the minimum number of guests isn’t met?

Still life sessions require 3 or more guests to go ahead. If an event doesn’t reach the minimum, we’ll notify you and either reschedule or refund your booking.
